Property Program, Home, Inc.

Our property program allows us to serve as the developer and general contractor in the construction and/or rehabilitation of single-family homes for those participating in HOME, Inc. programs. To make these homes more affordable, HOME, Inc. provides a variety of financing options.

As of this writing, more than 225 homes have been acquired and rehabbed or built to provide homeownership opportunities to low income households.

Homeownership Opportunities

HOME, Inc. believes that everyone willing and able to accept the responsibilities of homeownership should be able to purchase a home. Our homeownership opportunities can make it happen.

Homeownership Readiness Questionnaire

HOME, Inc. combines homeownership counseling and supportive services with property development and financing to assist low income people in becoming home owners. Home, Inc. offers the following models:

Lease/purchase involves the acquisition, rehabilitation and permanent financing of properties. Clients rent the home while participating in counseling aimed at helping them become bankable. Clients must rent the home for one year prior to assuming HOME, Inc.’s mortgage.

Turn Key involves sale of properties that are built or rehabilitated by HOME, Inc. Clients meeting income guidelines may apply to purchase a home. HOME, Inc. will assist the clients in pre-qualifying and securing mortgage financing. Based on need, clients may receive financial assistance towards the purchase of a home.

How to Qualify for Homeownership Opportunities

Our Homeownership Opportunities can make homeownership a reality; however, to qualify, you must you must meet the following requirements:

Be willing to maintain an honest working relationship with HOME, Inc.
Be willing to live in Polk County.
Have stable employment and a good rental history.
