In our last blog post, we talked about the power of community. Well, this might be a bit redundant because we want to talk about the power of community again this week. This time, we would like to highlight how impactful our network can be when it comes to fundraising. Think about it, we’ve all heard of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, Girl Scout Cookies, GoFundMe, and many more. All of those fundraising efforts have one thing in common, they use networking, communication and the power of community to spread the word, build awareness and ultimately raise money for a special cause.

The reason we bring this up today is that we have qualified for a unique fundraising opportunity through USA TODAY NETWORK to participate in an online giving campaign called A Community Thrives. Here is how it works, we are required to raise $6,000 through this online portal by April 12th in order to qualify for a $100,000 grant. This grant will allow HOME, Inc. to increase our community outreach, improve our educational services, and update our technology from the 90s.

So this is where we ask for your help! Give if you can and encourage others to give by sharing this link, http://bit.ly/homefundraiser with your friends, family, coworkers, old friends on Facebook who you haven’t seen IRL (in real life) in decades, or anyone who has an interest in improving our community by empowering families to create housing stability. Seems easy enough? Well, let’s get to work and see how powerful our community truly can be!
