Our second annual Hunt for Housing event took place on Wednesday, October 21st on Zoom! This event would not have been possible without our generous sponsors, our hardworking staff, Don Short & West End Salvage, our event committee, and our amazing community members. Our shared vision drives the work we do to create more quality affordable housing opportunities in Des Moines.
The night began with our awesome emcee Don Short cracking jokes and introducing Pam Carmichael – the Executive Director of HOME, Inc. Pam dedicated Hunt for Housing to Willa Tharp, a founding member of HOME, Inc., who passed away at the end of September. Marta Cordina of Wells Fargo then expressed their support of HOME, Inc. while showing her adorable dog who was also excited about our event.
Then professional interior designer, Libby Landon, presented about her journey as an interior designer, and gave some quick and easy tips to spruce up your home this fall. The second annual Hunt for Housing concluded with a fun game of trivia. Throughout the night we shared video clips of HOME, Inc. clients who have been empowered to create housing stability through our homeownership program and homeless prevention work.
Thanks to our supportive community and sponsors we were able to raise over $52,000 to put back into our community! Without your support HOME Inc. would not be able to help our community the way we do. Thank you!
