At HOME, Inc. we value our housing counselors and choose individuals with the best expertise to help our clients reach their individual housing needs wherever they are in their housing journey.

We are excited to share about our newest member of our team, Andrea Harris. Andrea has a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy.

“I came to HOME, Inc. with a passion for promoting family stability through housing and enriching the communities served.”

She just recently passed the HUD certification and is excited to be seeing clients at our office. She has a passion for people and their stories and has always found them fascinating.

“Counseling gives you the opportunity to meet individuals where they are at and it’s so rewarding”

Andrea started her career at the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery where she did case management and in-home therapy with low income families.

After her time with the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery, Andrea shifted her focus to the financial world. She became a phone teller and was able to help design a cultural diversity committee. After her time doing that she worked in home preservation for Wells Fargo.

Andrea was very excited about the position because she felt it was a perfect mix of her backgrounds. Additionally, she was intrigued about the homebuyer education and working with low to moderate individuals who were wanting to buy houses.

As someone who has experience with the mortgage process and understanding home preservation, she is wanting to make people more comfortable and confident in buying a home.

“My goal is to have people leave my office confident and informed in their decisions.”

Andrea also has the goal to raise awareness around housing issues and wants the community to know housing is one of our most basic needs that is often taken for granted.

“Everything else stems from putting and making people second class citizens”

Andrea desires to get more lenders and realtors involved with HOME, Inc. Specifically in terms of creating relationships and helping raise awareness for the issues that surround our families and clients.
